Spanning Backup for Google Apps: Daily backups “Set it and forget it” – Jenny’s Weekly Tip #37

HiResHave you ever accidentally deleted an important file and were unable to restore it from your trash? Whether human error or a device glitch, missing data can be a nightmare and can really stop your business in its tracks. This is where Spanning Backup can help. Not only does Spanning Backup protect your data, but it also gives you the control of what information is backed up and when.

While we all know the importance of data protection, we don’t really want to have to think about it every time a document is edited or files are moved. With Spanning Backup you don’t have to. You data is backed up daily, or on demand, and you can choose specific labels, documents folders, calendars and contact groups that you want to be in included in the daily backup.

So let’s take a look at how you can back up your data on demand:

1. Select a running user. This will only apply if you are signed in as the administrator.

2. In the user section you have access to Backup Schedule. This will show you information regarding the last and next backup and also provides the option to back up your data on the spot.

3. If the Back Up Now option is selected you will have the option to select which app you would like to be queued for backing up.

4. Or if you would like more control over your data, you can decide which files, contacts, calendars etc. you would like to be backed up by selecting the tick box next to app in the settings area.  Those that are not selected will not be included in the next backup and any backup thereafter until they are reselected.

With Back Up on demand you are in control of your data on a whole new level.

This is just a taster of what this powerful backup software has to offer. Spanning Backup surely does provide that extra peace of mind and security for your data as you can simply “Set it and forget it” until you need a document restoring.
