Salesforce Admins: Great reasons to attend Dreamforce – Jenny’s Admin Tip #33

Hey Admins guess what? There are only 61 days until the Salesforce event of the year – Dreamforce! I’m sure you already knew that! As the big Dreamforce clock counts down, Salesforce Admins across the world are preparing to either attend the event or join the millions who watch the event unfold online. To help you get prepared and excited, I am writing a series of blog posts that will hopefully help you admins get the most out of Dreamforce 2015!

As with many other Admins, this is my first Dreamforce. This year not only am I attending as a certified Salesforce Admin, but also as a Salesforce MVP (Most Valuable Professional) on a mission to meet all those who have supported me on my Salesforce journey. Which brings me to the topic of this blog.

I, like many others have my own reasons for going to the event, however, instead of just giving you reasons why you should attend Dreamforce, wouldn’t it be great if we could see why other superstar Admins and MVPs from across the world attend the event? Was that a yes? Good, because below are those reasons!

Content and Knowledge.

Admins, we sure have a lot to share. We have even more to learn and this opportunity allows us to take advantage of the experts on hand! The event not only provides us with the opportunity to learn new features but meet and learn from, to name a few, the likes of; Ryan Headly , MVP, who is attending the event to “give back to the community” – he can certainly teach you a thing or two about formula functions; Mike Gerholdt will be sharing “all the amazing Admin content” in the Admin Zone and many more. You are certainly spoilt for choice!

New Technology and more!

This is the biggest technology event of the year and as so there is no better opportunity to immerse yourself. Not only will there be the Salesforce keynote announcements with Marc Benioff but just about all the AppExchange vendors attend so you can learn about these new technologies and experience how they are evolving. Or if you like to get stuck in, there are many hands on sessions available. Dreamforce is like one big playground according to Amber Boaz, MVP @codescience who see’s the event as a chance for her to “play with the latest and greatest technology!”

I wonder which cool new toys, I mean tools, we will get to play with this year?

Meeting your Peers.

Dreamforce is not just about learning and sharing, but it is also about meeting the people that you spend so much time communicating with on social media and The Success Community throughout the year. Jennifer Wobser MVP and #1 Salesforce Admin, feels “Dreamforce is the one place where there are people like me.” One of the reasons why Jennifer attends is because- “Money can’t buy me what Dreamforce gives me –  I just fit in.” We also have Steve Mo, MVP and Success Community legend, who attends because he likes to “hear and see how other great admins are using the platform.” See you all in the Admin Zone (if we can all fit in 😉 ).
