Admins, are you prepared for Dreamforce? – Jenny’s Admin Tip #4

suitcase-002It’s only days to go before the Salesforce event of year. But before you Salesforce Admins start weaving your way through 120,000 people, popping in and out of the 1,400 breakout sessions, keynotes, cloud expos and the thousands of live demos, let me give you some tips on how to make the most out of this epic event – Dreamforce.

Now as Dreamforce is only around the corner, some of you may be already on your way to the event, nicely prepared. However, if it is your first time, you haven’t had time to to plan or have been asked to go at the last minute, the whole event could appear exciting but also a bit overwhelming.

So if you are lucky enough to make it this year and need a little guidance on what to do at Dreamforce (not that you will ever be without anything to do) then check out some of the amazing Admin and non Admin things to do to get you into the swing of it.

1. Become Salesforce Certified – Success Hub

Making an appearance is the Success Hub. A place where all your Salesforce Admin certification dreams (and more) can come true. This year not only can you have hands on Admin training, but you can then take that knowledge and sit the Admin exam, right there. Just imagine kicking off your Dreamforce experience being Salesforce Certified. I know you don’t have to travel to San Francisco to do this, but gaining that all important information from your fellow admins could mean the difference between a pass or a fail.

2. Lots and lots of breakout session

Ok. So you have your certification under your belt, what next? Well the event is your oyster, especially with a total of 669 Admin Sessions, Keynotes and Product Keynotes combined, spread out over the 4 days. If you are not busy in the Success Hub you will most definitely being soaking in the expertise in the Breakout Sessions.  Oooh and don’t forget the Marc Benioff Keynote on 14th, Tuesday at 1.30pm – 3.30pm!

3. The Great British Breakfast

Don’t start the epic day without a hearty breakfast and good old chat. Instead join the Desynit team and the Brits abroad (and friends) each morning to enjoy a free brekkie and a catch up with the UK attendees at the event before you head off in to the depths of the Dreamforce delightfulness. How else would you want to start your mornings than attending The Great British Breakfast?

4. All work and more FUN!

Yes, attending Dreamforce does mean that you will have lots of fun. And apart from all the wonderful knowledge you will gain, the amazing people you will meet and delightful chit chat you will have, one minute you will find yourself bopping away to Bruno Mars at the Dreamforce Gala and the next sipping wine at the Salesforce.com Welcome Reception. You lucky so and so.

If this isn’t enough to keep you going or you need more help on the events agenda, then don’t forget to download DF14 App.

I’m not going to Dreamforce this year, so let me know what you are most looking forward to or what you enjoyed the most?

See you next week.
